Stockholm looks pretty even on a cloudy day. :) These snaps were shot in the middle of May.
Helgeandsholmen is a small island in central Stockholm. Together with Riddarholmen, it forms Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm.
The terrace in the eastern end is called Strömparterren. It was Stockholm’s first public park, opened in 1832 to the general public, with whom it quickly found favour. There was a café, and concerts were often arranged in the park. It's said that in those times there were clear class differences between the parks of Stockholm. Humlegården was for the common people, Kungsträdgården for the “beau monde”. Strömparterren seems to have been a place where everyone could go. :)
Looks like a lovely capital. I have never visited Scandavia but I am sure I would find the whole area very appealing. Lovely series of pictures.
VastaaPoistaKaunista! Kyllä näitä ilokseen katselee täällä lumen keskellä :)
VastaaPoistaIhania kesäkuvia! Kesä on niin monen kuukauden päässä vielä. Terveisiä lumisateen keskeltä:-)
VastaaPoistaIhana katsella kukkaistutuksia, kun juuri tulin sisään lumitöistä :D
VastaaPoistaStockholm är en jätteskön stad.
Komeaa arkkitehtuuria.
All so beautiful ♥
VastaaPoistaOh, it does indeed look beautiful even on a cloudy day :) What lovely photos, sweet friend.
VastaaPoistaIt's always a joy to visit with you. Hugs!
The colour screams out into my eyes, such colour is gone now in the UK. And of this morning, the world...
VastaaPoistaTäytyiskin joskus käydä Tukholmassa keväällä, ehkä messujen aikaan:)
VastaaPoistaSo beautiful. The floral combinations are so rich and beautiful. No such color here, now. You lifted my spirit.
VastaaPoistaMy daughter visited Stockholm a few years ago and loved the city. It looks very walkable, with lots of interesting sights. The little blue forget-me-nots are such pretty flowers. We all need a little brightness in our lives today - thanks for this glimpse of summer.
VastaaPoistaWonderful post. Great photos. The flowers are just beautiful. Have a blessed day.. Madeline
Ponnistellaan marraskuussa!
VastaaPoistaOh so beautiful, Sara! It looks like the most beautiful city! <3
VastaaPoistaSuch beautiful captures, Sara - I really love the composition in a number of these photos. It's lovely to look back on memories in the form of photos :-)
VastaaPoistaI would love to visit this City.... Both because it is so beautiful and because my ancestors came from Sweden ... many years ago.
VastaaPoistaTodella hienot kuvat.
VastaaPoistaVilka tjusiga bilder av vår huvudstad i vårens vackra grönska!
VastaaPoistaTack Gunilla!
PoistaIdag är det alldeles vitt och massor med snö ute... kanske också i Eskilstuna.
Ha det bra!
How wonderful is to look at your summer photos, Sara. I love this one with daffodils and a museum (?) on background.
VastaaPoistaThank you, Nadezda!
PoistaThe beautiful building is the Parliament House (Riksdagshuset), constructed between 1897 and 1905.
How beautiful that when everywhere fall is flashing you reminded us the delicate lovely smiles of spring dear.
VastaaPoistaLove you for this
I love it ♥ The beautiful flowers! And we miss them. But it is good for us to wait ...they are coming again :-) Is it snowing now in your country?
VastaaPoistaRuotsissa kaikki on jo niin kukassaan tuohon aikaan. Ihanat lemmikit. Minulla on sinulle haaste blogissa . Meinasit unohtua, otsalohkossa kutitti että oli joku tärkeä.. ♡ Stressitöntä joulun odotusta!
VastaaPoistaBeautiful flowers and modern looking buildings. I'm off to the Scandinavian Christmas bazaar on Friday for my pulla.
VastaaPoistaUpeat kuvat!
VastaaPoistaKauniita kukkia!
Mukavaa viikonloppua sinulle!
Oi, oi, oi!
VastaaPoistaA place I have never visited, so it was lovely to see your photo's.
VastaaPoistaLovely to see all the colour in the flowers ...
All the best Jan
Beautiful photos! My favourite is the first, the flowers with the bridge on the background. I really enjoyed the little historical information. :-) I like these cloudy days. I think they are the best to walk around the city.
