From start to success :)

The topic of the first MakroTex challenge of this year is BEGINNING. I decided to choose a gardening theme.

In the beginning, there's a dream, fed by emotions, history and memories... and by books, magazines and catalogues... :)

Then there's much work.

Knowledge, skills and good luck would be useful as well - and yet success is not guaranteed. :)

MakroTex-haasteen aiheena on tällä viikolla ALKU. Koetin keksiä, miten teemaan voisi yhdistää puutarhakuvia.

Alussa on ideoita ja haaveita, joita sitten yritetään toteuttaa...

Tämän postauksen kuvat eivät ole uusia. Mukana on jopa kaksi paperikuvasta skannattua kuvaa ja allaolevista "unelmakuvista" osa on Italiasta.

Wisteria floribunda 'Longissima Alba'

Robinia pseudoacacia

Laburnum anagyroides

"If the plan doesn't work,
change the plan, not the goal."

Happy New Year!

Onnellista uutta vuotta!

    1. Thank you, David and Lisa!
Some of the photos are from our garden in Italy, and Laburnum (golden chain) and Robinia (black locust - note to self: find out why such a lovely tree has such an awful name :)) can be found wild in many areas in Northern Italy. This year I'm going to try sowing laburnum seeds here in Finland... even though the good results are not guaranteed. :)
The gorgeous azaleas grow in a park in the foothills of the Alps. I will post more photos taken there, even though they are old ones.

  9. Looks like wisteria in the first picture! Very pretty. Pity I couldn't garden my way out of an open door

  11. I love wisteria but sadly ours died after a number of years. Probably the wrong position. I rely on a great deal of luck in my garden. My Father was very green fingered, he was amazing at creating a garden from bedding plants alone. Sadly his green fingers did not rub off me though I do try.
I am really looking forward to seeing what wonderful tulips you have chosen for this year. Happy gardening Sara :)

  13. Happy New Year, sweet Sara. Ah, what a joy to my heart to visit your lovely blog after being away on a break. I trust you are well and a wonderful Christmas season.

Your photos were a gift to look at as it's very gloomy here today. We are getting snow {which I love}, but seeing your beautiful flowers brought a smile to my face.

    Hugs and joy to you!

Tammikuu alkaa siemenluetteloiden selailulla, ei siitä mihinkään pääse! Ihanat sinisateet - haaveena päästä joskus Ninfan puutarhaan niitä ihastelemaan.

  20. Seed catalogues and seed packet displays are so enticing - I always want to get more than I know I can possibly grow. Your photos are stunning, especially the wisteria. Just a few short months and we'll be enjoying its scent again. Happy New Year, Sara, and I wish you much success with your gardening.

  22. Ett blommande blåregn är nog många trädgårdsägares dröm men tyvärr näst intill omöjligt med denna enorma blomning på våra breddgrader men dina foton är som vanligt helt underbara.

God fortsättning på det nya året!
