The weather was rather cloudy - fortunately! The temperature on the mountains was about 30 degrees Celsius and when we descended into the Po Valley, the temperature rose to 37 °C (98.6 °F). During our stay in Italy, the daily maximum temperatures were around 35 - 37 °C. After the cool Finnish summer it felt lovely, but I must admit that the air conditioners made the trip much more comfortable. :)
Welcome to Villa Emilia (My Woodland Garden), a photography blog with a slant towards gardening and nature. An amateur gardener and photographer, I hope to share beautiful moments with you through pictures. Let me know if you like them! 💚
Thank you for your visit.

Oh, Sara, what the mountains! Finally I can warm yourself in Italy :0))
VastaaPoistaThe weather here and in Finland is very cool and nights are just cold. So enjoy wonderful views and weather!
Thank you, Nadezda! Yes, the warm weather was lovely.
PoistaJust think that in some parts of Finland there have already been frosty nights...
Stay well!
Wow, lovely scenery and gorgeous views! I like the castle ruins and the lovely flowers! Have a happy day!
VastaaPoistaThank you very much, Eileen!
PoistaThis is in fact one of my favourite series of photos from our trip.
Stay well!
I like the hazy vistas and thinking of long ago when the castle was constructed with all those stones. For the technology they had, a pretty good job with what is still standing.
VastaaPoistaThank you very much, Judith!
PoistaIt's fascinating to think of those old times.
Coming soon over to enjoy "Tea on Thursday"! :)
Come to think of it, we also have castles in Finland, but I don't think I've visited even one. Shame on me :D
Grazie mille, Rita!
Stammi bene… e visita qualche castello finlandese! ;D
Really enjoyed this post. My parents were both born in Northern Italy, they came over to America as young children. Your photos are great. Have a blessed day.. Madeline
VastaaPoistaThank you very much, dear Madeline!
PoistaIt was very interesting to hear about your parents coming from Northern Italy.
I hope you will enjoy the following posts!
Upeat jylhät maisemat! Olen ollut pari kertaa Sardiniassa, mutta muuten Italia on vielä kokematta. Juuri tuollainen roadtrip Euroopan halki olisi kyllä mahtava joskus vielä toteuttaa!
VastaaPoistaKiitos, Muusa!
PoistaMatka oli tosiaan mielenkiintoinen. Ihanteellista olisi hieman väljempi aikataulu. Me ajoimme Suomesta Italiaan neljässä päivässä ja yritimme nähdä mahdollisimman paljon matkan varrella.
Italia olisi kaunis matkakohde syksylläkin! :)
Stunning!!!! Absolutely beautiful! I though that Switzerland was the best, but this might have won! xx
VastaaPoistaThank you, Amy!
PoistaOf course Italy is the best! :)
Stay well! xx
So many beautiful places in Italy. The warmth of Italy is good for muscles and bones when you come from Finland.
VastaaPoistaThank you, Janneke!
PoistaThe warmth was indeed lovely. It's so nice when you don't need to wonder how the weather will be the following day and what you should wear: it's always sunny and warm! :)
Ohhhh, Italy!!! My dreamland!! When God decided to create paradise, he created Italy
VastaaPoista♥♥♥!
PoistaWhat a beautiful place! Gorgeous photos.
VastaaPoistaThank you very much, Kate!
PoistaHave a lovely Sunday!
Upeat näkymät ja hienot linnan rauniot.
VastaaPoistaKiitos paljon, Gunilla!
PoistaIhanaa sunnuntaita!
