Jotain sinistä - Blue mugs and thoughts

In English: Hello dear readers! Today I participate again in MakroTex photo challenge. This week's theme is SOMETHING BLUE. Blue is a wonderful colour and "feeling blue" shouldn't mean "feeling sad". :) Just think of a wonderful blue sky...

Sad thoughts there are, however, in these days. Plenty of them. Russia's evil attack on Ukraine continues. New atrocities are being uncovered every day across areas occupied by the Russians. Ukraine has received a total of about €1 billion in military aid from the EU whereas Europe, Russia's biggest oil and gas customer, has paid almost €40 billion for Russian energy since the start of the war.

I was pleased to see the bar chart of the monthly electricity consumption of our household. We have managed to save energy! :D (Blue colour: the recent months, grey: same months a year ago.)

Loppuun kuitenkin yksi iloisempi kuva. Tässäkin on hieman sinistä, kaunista sellaista, ihanissa rosmariinin kukissa. :)

Here in Portugal, Ukrainians are now the second foreign community.
And 66% of our energy is renewable...
    Have a lovely day !

  4. Congratulations on saving energy, Sara. We should all adopt this as a goal in life, and Europe has to find a way to cut itself off from Russian supplies of oil and gas. I am sure that many are regretting the decision to have become do dependent on this rabid madman.

  8. I love blue more than any other colour. The little candle holder is so pretty. No blue sky here - it tried to snow this morning.
I am heartsick about Ukraine, and about the West's unwillingness to really do something to help. The ruthlessness of the invaders is sickening.

    1. Thank you very much, Lorrie. This post is almost one month old by now. Much has been done, meanwhile, to help Ukraine, but still more should be done. Stay well!

  9. Hello, Sara! I am happy to be able to comment on your blog again! For a long time I could not and so I worked and worked to fix it and now, finally, I am able to comment and tell you that I have been reading all of your posts. Thank you so much for the mention of my blog in a previous post. xx Your blog is also a favorite of mine, dear friend. xx The war in Ukraine is so heartbreaking. We can now say that we are looking at the true face of evil. The threat of nuclear war by Russia is unconscionable. It is blackmail by the devil. I have no words...It is a helpless feeling, but all I can do is donate to help the poor Ukrainian refugees and use my taxpayer money to help supply the soldiers. These are small sacrifices, willingly given. Well, on a brighter note, I do love the color blue and especially the candleholder and photo of the sea. I hope that you have a lovely Easter, dear Sara. xx Karen

  12. Dear Sara, your newer posts continue to reinforce the strength of the Ukraine people and the madness, brutallity and insanity of Putin. Your U-tube clips of the Ukraine National Anthem, brought me to tears.
