Almost incredible - 30 syyskuvaa

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." (A quotation attributed to Albert Camus.) Camus must have been thinking of an autumn like this. After the hot and dry summer, our rowan trees (and aspens too) now have redder leaves than usually in autumn ever before and even the most boring corners of our yard look fabulous. :)

UV-B radiation and drought are stress factors known to induce anthocyanin synthesis in foliage, on the other hand the leaves look much healthier than for example last year, after a very rainy summer.

Guess what our weather report promises for Friday... s-n-o-w... :D

Kuvia on tullut jo valtavasti. :)

Perjantaiksi on luvattu tänne lumisadetta.

This is how rainy days look now:

A travel diary: Kew Gardens - Green💚

Fallen leaves on the ground... and it was only July. The summer 2018 heatwave caused an "early autumn" also in Kew Gardens. Most trees, however, looked very handsome... and many other plants were brilliantly green as well. :)

Seuraavan postauksen kuvissa on väriä sitäkin enemmän.

This is a photo diary. Ten photos in each post and few words. :)

A travel diary: Kew Gardens - Hydrangeas

Back to Kew Gardens! During my stay at the end of July, the warm weather continued to dry out the soil. As you can see also in these images, the lawns were brown... but both the mopheads and the lacecaps were blooming prettily as ever. :)

The day was cloudy and pleasantly cool - unfortunately the photos are a little bit grey.
