Autumn has arrived, beautiful... 

We did have a short Indian summer, of two days, and now we have had two foggy days. Fog is a perfect match with the colourful autumn foliage...and it also reminds me of the beautiful years lived in Italy. When I was young, I wouldn't have known that fog plus fairy lights equals a very Christmassy atmosphere. :)

Paper napkin: Ihr

Lämmin ja kaunis jakso oli lyhyt... ja ihana. Kun syyskuun lopussa on aurinkoista ja melko kuivaa, ilmassa tuntuu harvinaisia, salaperäisiä tuoksuja, jotka tuovat mieleen muistoja vuosien takaa. :)

Suruvaipan värit ovat jo hieman haalistuneet.

Viime viikolla oli yksi aivan ihana postipäivä. Suloisten akileijojen siemeniä blogiystävältä...

... ja kivaa paperitavaraa myöhästyneenä syntymäpäivälahjana (sukulaiselta Italiasta, ei kyseiseltä yritykseltä!):

Näiden Flying Tiger Copenhagen -tuotteiden joukossa oli mm. hauska muistilistalehtiö kodinsiivoukseen. Kyllä ne tanskalaiset osaavat... käyttää jopa kylmää ilmastoa maansa brändäämiseen! :D

Happiness and gratitude

Elokuussa on mukavaa viettää syntymäpäivää, onhan se kuukausista täysin ja kypsin. :) Tänä vuonna syntymäpäiväni oli harvinaisen viileä ja pilvinen, mutta parempi kolea ja hieman sateinen sää kuin ennätyshelle ja kuivuus. Niin, kuivuusjaksot ovat entistä pidempiä, sateet entistä rankempia, vahinkoa aiheuttavat kovat tuulet entistä yleisempiä.

Tämän postauksen otsikko on kuitenkin "Onni ja kiitollisuus". Onneksi pienistä asioista löytyy iloa ja kauneutta, vaikka isot asiat ovatkin maailmassa surkeasti.

Do I think people's personalities and destiny are affected by their zodiac signs? Of course not. However, I do know that my star sign is Leo. Leo's character has been described for example like this:

"Maisa and Kaarina", by Sari Luhtanen and Tiina Paju, is one of my favourite Finnish comic strips and gag cartoons. It's about the life and friendship between two women, Maisa (above; blond, plump, single) and Kaarina (slim, dark-haired, very efficient mum and housewife).  It's about coffee and chocolate, too. Illustrated with adventures of M&K, I have a canvas bag, coffee mugs, stamps, books...

Floral postage stamps from Germany

Hello all! Browsing through the mail, I noticed that an envelope from Germany had three different floral stamps affixed to it. (How lovely is that!) I knew I had more of them somewhere... and when I finally found my overcrowded box of random stamps, I scanned first all the German ones with flowers (very probably there are more denominations, but I have only these) and then also the Finnish ones. They are pretty as well... and you will see them in the following posts. :)

Vuosien varrella on kotiin kertynyt myös postimerkkejä. Saksasta tulevissa kirjeissä on usein kukka-aiheisia merkkejä. Kun etsin niitä, huomasin että onhan Suomessakin julkaistu kauniita kukkamerkkejä vaikka kuinka paljon. Taidankin postata niitä seuraavaksi. :)
