2017 revisited, part 3

From autumn to winter. We had the cloudiest autumn in living memory, but I have chosen mainly sunny photos. Just because. :)

Good time with family and friends, nature's beauty, Christmas preparations...

Syksyn hehkusta talven harmauteen. :)

No added saturation, just some great evening light:

Berries (toxic to humans) of Maianthemum bifolium, false lily of the valley or May lily. Its Finnish name is oravanmarja, "squirrel berry". :)

LuontoPortti on varmaan tuttu sivusto kaikille.

"The quiet transition from autumn to winter is not a bad time at all.
It's a time for protecting and securing things
and for making sure you've got in as many supplies as you can."
(Tove Jansson)

Nenäpäivän mustarastas

Omnomnom

Maaliskuussa kuvasin liito-oravan pihapuussa. Toinenkin yllätysvieras oli liikkunut pihapiirissä viime vuoden aikana. Joulukuisessa postauksessani pohdiskelin mitä jälkiä nämä voisivat olla. Luulen että ne ovat sittenkin ahman jäljet. Ahmoja on havaittu kuntamme alueella. En tiedä miten tavallista on, että ne kulkevat asutun talon pihalla. :)

Kuvassa näkyvästä tyynystä ja sen kavereista lisää seuraavassa postauksessa... Mukavaa viikonloppua! ♥

As always, I will try to visit you as soon as I can.
Thank you for your patience. Have a great weekend!
xx

  2. I have never done this kind of recapitulation of the year's event as recorded by my photographs but maybe I should think about it for next year. It must help to rekindle many happy memories. The food all looks scrumptious, Sara!

  7. Winter is lovely around your neck of the woods, Sara. I love seeing all the snow. Some Yummy goodies you have shared too. I think my favorite picture is the heart dangling from the branch covered with snow, and also the sweet orange bird. How they survive the cold Winters I don't know.

  10. Sydäntälämmittävää katsella vuoden ympäri - kuviasi ❤️Toinen toistaan suloisempia. 🐿 Kodissa ja ulkosalla. Kaunis koriste lumisessa kuusessa ja viimeisen kuvan joulukuusi; oi miten sykädyttävät vielä tammikuun lopussakin 🌲... which reminds me; meillä on vielä torttutaikinalevyjä pakastimessa ja kuivattuja luumuja kaapissa. Eikun torttuja ja luumuhilloa tekemään 🖤 Kiitos inspiraatiosta. Rentouttavaa viikonloppua !

  12. A delightful return to your autumn and winter. Your snowy images of the 31.10 capture my heart.
Deja vu seeing your fruit pie [3/10]. It looks like a recipe I discovered last week. My efforts didn't look as tasty as yours but the flavours were lovely. Thanks for sharing the increible beauty of where you live.

  17. Hej Sara!

    Kram!
