Winter days - Talvipäiviä

Good morning!

Aurinkoista huomenta!

Recently, we have been able to enjoy sunny winter days... and low temperatures, -26 C this morning. The snow is dry and soft, I wonder if this could be called "champagne powder". :)

A bunny? No, a hyperactive squirrel... :)

Everyone's favourite:

Muistakaahan ruokkia pikkulintuja näiden paukkupakkasten aikaan! Hyvää viikonloppua!

Happy upcoming weekend!

Hui, - 22 tuntuu siellä meren lähellä varmaan hyytävän kylmältä!

  2. Beautiful, though rather chilly, pictures. Far too cold for me!
I'm surprised to see a photo of a Crested Tit - a very rare sight in the UK, only being found in the far north of Scotland where they are by no means easy to spot.

  5. Wow, at minus 26 you still have full on winter, Sara. Here is has become quite mild and the last couple of days we had a lot of rain, which of course brings its own problems with localized flooding and ice floe blockages. Great shots of those lovely tits!

  6. What a nice frosty day, Sara! -26 C! Your photos are as always beautiful, show the weather, snowflakes, sun in fog. Love titmice and their tweeting, love watching them eating. I give birds sunflower seeds and lard.
    Happy week and stay warm!

  12. Awesome pics of the snowflakes. Just what I needed in our heatwave. So glad you have sunshine, even if -26C!
I can quit understand that your raspberry and apple [?] pie is everyone's favourite! It looks quite delicious, especially eaten on a cold evening. Your capture of the sun is brilliant. Someone gently holding it in reverence.

What you see in the photo is oven-baked pancake ("pannukakku" in Finnish). It's served topped with jam, fruit, molasses, whipped or ice cream... or, as in this case, (frozen) berries.

  13. I love your pictures - they are simply perfect! In Austria the weather should also be very cold in the next days. I think we have to wait for spring a little bit longer than in normal years.

This winter has been like in the good old days, cold, beautiful, with much snow. :)
Let's hope the next week's weather in Europe will not be as cold as predicted!

  14. Hej Sara!

    Kram!

  22. Snowflakes amaze me, as there are no two alike. I love these pictures of all the snow around your neck of the woods, Sara. And those sweet birds - your birds are very different than ours here. The desserts look Yummy, and wish I had some to go with my tea right now. ; )

Enjoy your Winter days. It's been really cold here and we have rain!

  25. -26°C in the morning! Ok, I won't complain anymore about the -10°C we had this morning. This coming week becomes also very cold here. And I also won't complain anymore about snow and ice which doesn't want to completely melt away here!
I like how you caught all the cute animals with your camera. But I have to confess your snowy landscape does look wonderful!
By the way I am in contact with Keity from Tokyo. Winter over there was also very cold this year: -1°C !!! I will meet her soon again.

  26. Your winter pictures leave me breathless....gorgeous! Here we have had a strange February....lots of snow and then warm temps into the 60s and 70s melting it all. It seems now we are headed toward a giving way to spring with no snow, warming temps again and spring bulb growth just peeking through the soil.

  31. So much beauties, dearest Sara! The last two pictures are breathtaking!
Your little neighbours are very cute, they always make me smile. :-)
The cake with raspberries looks so good... I'd like to eat it all. :-)
And the photos of the snowflakes are amazing... Here, it has been snowing for over a week, and there were very cold days. Not so cold, as in Finland, but colder than usual here. :-) We already thought that this winter had been cancelled... but it's arrived finally.
I wish a happy, wonderful week to you! Big hugs! ♥
