Sigh! Christmas visitors have gone home. The chocolates and biscuits have been eaten... well, almost all. Soon it's time to take down the Christmas tree. There's sadness in the air, but most of all there's gratitude for another Christmas celebrated together with loved ones.
"Päättyy joulu vaikkei kenkään sois’
joulukuusi viedään pois, pois, pois
mutta ensi vuonna hän saapuu lailla ystävän
ei voi toivo pettää!"
Thank you, J.! |
Starting to dream of spring... and wishing you a Happy Epiphany!
Edessä on vielä monta pakkaskuukautta, mutta jotenkin alla oleva kuva saa minut ajattelemaan kevättä. Sitä kohti ollaan menossa. Ihana aurinko! :)
Hyvää loppiaista!
♥
EDIT: I had to add here something just read on a blogger friend Linda's post:
"When you find yourself in the position to help someone, be happy and feel blessed.
It's because God is answering that person's prayer through you."
VastaaPoistakauniita kuvia.
Ihanaa tulevaa loppiaista sinulle.
Ihastuttavat otokset. Lumihiutale-aihe on herkän kaunis, ja kivat tipuset.
VastaaPoistaJoulu nyt taakse jää, vaan uuden tuo vuosi tää ! Ennen pitkää :)
January, gennaio, tammikuu - a wonderful month 🐿
Dear Sara,
VastaaPoistasuch beautiful post and photos. Have a lovely day today and a nice weekend.
Love ... Dorothea
Teidän joulunne päättyy kauniina, herkät joulun koristeet ja upeat maisemat. Kiitos toivotuksista Sara ja hyviä hetkiä tammikuulle!
VastaaPoistaIs that a little willow tit?
VastaaPoistaEverything still seems festive and magical with the snow up there.
Thank you, Simon!
PoistaYes, that is a willow tit. Small and round and friendly, it's my favourite bird. :)
Onpa kauniita lumikuvia. Teilläkin on jo runsaasti lunta. Ihana kuva lumihiutaleesta. Meilläkin on viikonloppuna vuorossa joulukuusen purkaminen. Vähän haikein mielin siihen hommaan ryhdytään. Hyvää tammikuun jatkoa!
VastaaPoistaI have already put away all my Christmas decorations. Your photos are great. Love the snow ones. Our weather man is saying we might get a little snow Friday. I'll believe it when I see it.. Have a blessed day. Madeline
VastaaPoistaIhanat kuvat, toivottavasti teillä oli hieno joulu:-)
VastaaPoistaLinda in Quebec has an interesting blog full of inspiration Sara and I like the quote you shared on this post. One never knows when visiting or telephoning someone that it's just what they needed for their own personal reasons.
VastaaPoistaI love the circle of little red elves? grouped around the miniature Christmas tree.
We have sunshine today, it's very cold but at least the house is bright.
xx
It's rather cold also here, -26 C at the moment.
PoistaThose friendly, little creatures are jultomtar (Swedish, singular "jultomte", in Finnish "joulutonttu"). In Scandinavia, we have many kinds of tomtar, the ones in red help Father Christmas. :)
I just learned from Wikipedia that the most accurate translation into English would be (the Scottish) "brownie", not "elf" or "goblin".
xx
Hienot kuvat. Itse keräilen aina innolla joulukoristeet pois joulun jälkeen. Jo ennen loppiaista minulla meinaa alkaa malttamaton kevään odotus ja uuden kasvukauden suunnittelu;)
VastaaPoistaSara, I am so excited to see your post, and your photos are magnificent! It is cold here in Montreal, and we had freezing rain twice in the last week. I prefer the snow, but I am nervous about the ice, as it is easy to slip and fall. Take good care of yourself, and thank you so much for sharing your beautiful photos! :)
VastaaPoistaSimply beautiful photography.
VastaaPoistaYour christmas is such a contrast to our sweaty heat.
Happy Epiphany, Sara. I love the whimsy of the little elves surrounding the Christmas tree. So glad you had a good Christmas with family. It's cold here and I'm staying close to the fire when I'm not at work. I hope the new year brings you much joy.
VastaaPoistabeautiful and delicate images! <3
VastaaPoistaSuch a lovely post again!
VastaaPoistaHave a delightful weekend, dear Sara!
As always, such beautifully captured images. Whilst you capture 'every day scenes', your images feel far more special than that. I'm glad you had a lovely Christmas with your loved ones. I hope some warmer weather greets you soon!
VastaaPoistaLovely wintry scenes Sara.
VastaaPoistaMy chocolate was eaten very quickly indeed!!
Your willow tit is sooo cute!!!
Stay warm and have a wonderful weekend :)
We had our last family Christmas/New Year gathering a few days ago ... it is just so lovely to see and spend time with loved ones.
VastaaPoistaI enjoyed your photo's and I especially enjoyed reading the words you put at the end of your post from Linda.
Wishing you a happy weekend and yes 'starting to dream of spring... and wishing you a Happy Epiphany!'
All the best Jan

I wish you and family a very Happy new year dear friend !
Hello, Sara. happy Epiphany! I enjoy your photos of snow, ice, lights on a tree, but the frost is here about -20 C, very cold! I'm thinking about spring as well!
VastaaPoistaHappy New Year Sara!
VastaaPoistaIt's been a long time since my last visit to your warm blog! Sorry about that ♥♥♥
Summary, in December, we had very hectic schedule! Finally, I was stucked on my bed for more than 2 weeks because of a terrible flu! I feel better now even to read the blogs!
So, I wish all the best to you and to your family for 2017!
Greetings from far ♥
Onnellista uutta vuotta Sara sinulle, alkoiko se hyvin? Pienenä sanoimme aina "päättyi joulu vaikkei kenkäkään sois" haha. Mulla on jo ikävä joulua, kuusen roudasimme tänään ulos nyyyyh. Kauniita kuvia, as always.
VastaaPoistaAll things Christmas are put away and what a chore it was. I purged the storage space where it all goes, hoping to make less cluttered--for a while. I have enjoyed your posts all year long and look forward to this year. Will this be the year that you find a dollhouse? Happy New Year, Sara.
VastaaPoistaHappy New Year, Sara! And hope you had a wonderful day to celebrate the Epiphany on janury, 6!
VastaaPoistaIt's such a beautiful time and your pictures shows the warm and happiness, the joy as well! January came with a surprise and we have lots of snow *-* What joy, indeed!
A very lovely Sunday and a great week ahead! Alexa
Wishing you a great start to 2017!
VastaaPoistaBeautiful memories! I would be sad that the Belgian chocolate was all gone ;>)..... Happy New Year!
VastaaPoistaTunnelmallisia kuvia!
VastaaPoistaBeautiful images Sara. I like how you've featured the red theme for this post. Wishing you a good new year!
VastaaPoistaOi tavaton, miten ihania kuvia!
VastaaPoistaKiitos, Kyllimarjaana!
PoistaToivottavasti innostut taas postaamaan upeita kuviasi.
VastaaPoistaFelices Reyes, Sara. They have already finished, the family reunions, the nougats and the chocolate and it returns also calmer. The photos are beautiful. Around here we have little snow and many frosts.
VastaaPoistaBesos.
More beautiful, frosty photos! Don't be sad... be happy you had a good time together x
VastaaPoistaFeliz ano 2017,
AG
The post holiday blues is here. Beautiful shots.
Tervetuloa vastavierailulle!
VastaaPoistaSuch lovely photos Sara. I especially like the frost on the window, and the circle of small red elves. Happy New Year Sara. The days are already getting longer and brighter. :)
