The first days of January in ten photos. Being busy and AFK seems to be the constant state of things in my life now. Please know that I will visit your blog as soon as I can. :)
My first ever photos of a European crested tit (Lophophanes cristatus, formerly Parus cristatus) |
Cyanistes caeruleus/Parus caeruleus |
Parus major |
The rhododendrons are feeling the cold too. |
Their cousins indoors are blooming and need water every day. :) |
Pikainen tervehdys ja hyvän viikonlopun toivotukset teille kaikille!
Pirkon blogiystävähaaste on työn alla. Siihen pitäisi keksiä hyviä kuvia. Tänään yritin kuvata tulppaaneja ihan kirkasvalolampun kanssa. (Täällä on pilvistä ja todella pimeää.) Tulppaanien kuvaaminen on melkein yhtä vaikeaa kuin niiden asetteleminen kauniisti maljakkoon... :)
♥!
EDIT:
I would have a question to my readers in Britain:
Is it easy to find a good ophthalmologist there?
What does one need to know to choose well?
Thank you!
Tulips and the smell of fresh bread from the oven are surely a boost to the long dreary days of winter. How exciting to experience a lifer (first time in life) and photograph the European crested tit.
VastaaPoistaI'm trying to figure out what AFK stands for, may need a little help. :-)
Be well and stay warm.
Hugs,
Linguistically challenged, I'm never certain of how "away from one's computer" is correctly said and so I use AFK. :)

Your January is off to a beautiful start. That little crested tit in the snow is so cute! I'm glad you explained what AFK is, for I was wondering as well.
VastaaPoistaStay cozy - that bread looks wonderful.
Great photos. The bread looks delicious. Have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend. Madeline
VastaaPoistaDear Sara,
VastaaPoistayour winter photos are wonderful. Special the photos of the birds.
Thank you for your visit. Have a beautiful weekend. Hugs... Dorothea :-)
Kauniit kuvat, pidän erityisesti noista lintukuvista. - Samaa mieltä, tulppaanien kuvaaminen on todella haastavaa. - Mukavaa viikonloppua Sara!
VastaaPoistaYhdyn Annelin sanoihin. Kuvat pienistä siivekkäistä ovat aina ihania.
VastaaPoistaMukavaa alkanutta viikonloppua sinulle.
Lovely to see a Crested Tit; very rare over here, only seen in parts of Scotland.
VastaaPoistaIt should be common here, but this is the first year we see one or two visiting our bird-feeder area. Its lovely song makes us all very happy.
PoistaI love the little bird too. Last photo is so nice. In our language it's called "meesje". The plant or flower is also amazing!
VastaaPoistaIhania kuvia. Tulppaani kuva on aivan huippu! Mukavaa viikonloppua;-)
VastaaPoistaKauniita kuvia ja upeita tulppaaneja! Hauskaa viikonloppua!
VastaaPoistaSome lovely photographs here ... haven't these first weeks of January gone by so quickly!
VastaaPoistaYou asked about good ophthalmologist in Britain ... I think it all depends on what you are looking for ... can you do a google type search, for example 'Find ophthalmology service in London' or a place where you will be visiting. It's a start for more research. Hope you find what you are looking for.
All the best Jan
Wow, Sara, fresh bread and a gorgeous series of winter photos!!! Thank you so much for sharing! :)
VastaaPoistaThat wonderful bread, followed by your first picture of a Crested Tit, seem to auger well for 2017!
VastaaPoistaHieno kuvasarja. Rodon lehdet riippuvat ihan palkoina, mutta kyllä se siitä taas elpyy.
VastaaPoistaHurmaannuin tuosta töyhtötipusesta niin että en saanut silmiä irti ❤️ Myös sinitiainen polvia
myöten lumessa on hellyttävä ( polvia? :D ) ja talitiainen on aina ilo nähdä. Mutta siis parus
cristatus valloitti minut ! 🙂
10 delightful photos for me to gaze at and feel cooler. We are not enjoying a week of 35 C plus temperatures with high humidity, but that is our summer.
VastaaPoistaAika häviää nyt jonnekin minultakin :) Alppiruusut näyttävät tuolta täälläkin, linnut on aina ihania. Hyvää viikonloppua Sara!
VastaaPoistaLovely little birds! The bread looks so good and must have been so fragrant in the kitchen! So nice on a cold, winter day. xx Karen
VastaaPoistaDet ser riktigt kallt ut hos dig...brrrr..
VastaaPoistaDen lilla tofsmesen som den heter på svenska är så söt, inte säker men den tillhör förmodligen någon av de minsta i mesfamiljen.
Kram!
beautiful!!!
VastaaPoistaMagical!!! and inviting photos .
you are really too good with your camera friend!
these are lovely! especially love the bird photos and pink blooms... have a beautiful day!
VastaaPoistaI have had to find myself an opticians, I am going on Monday in fact for my eye test, I will try and post about it on the blog if I remember so I hope it will be some help. I am going somewhere on personal recommendation, to a particular local branch of a national chain. Beautiful photos of the birds!
VastaaPoistaKauniit tulppaanit!
VastaaPoistaJa hienot kuvat pikkulinnuista!
Lovely tulips, beautiful winter fairy tale land, and fresh baked breads… (I can almost feel their fragrance.) It is so great! :-)
VastaaPoistaI love your titmouse photos. That little crested tit is so very cute, as he stands jauntily in the snow, as if to say: "Hey, winter, look at me! You can never defeat me." :-)
Wishing you a delightful rest of weekend, dear Sara!
Breads got me from the heart! I felt how warm they are and smelling good! Indeed lovely winter photos ♥♥♥ European crested tit is so very cute! Wonderful shot!!!
VastaaPoistaBig hugs
Beautiful captures, especially of the birds. How hard they work to stay fed and survive the harsh winter cold. I wish you a beautiful week ahead. Pam
VastaaPoistaCiao carissima and happy new year! I too have been AFK (I too didn't know what that meant haha). I've been so busy but it's always a treat to come back and visit your blog to see what you've been up to. Hope all is well with you.
Toivottavasti saatte aurinkoa!
VastaaPoistaSweet little birds -- you'd think their feet would freeze! They look beautiful in the snow however! Those tulips are absolutely beautifiu.
VastaaPoistaPimeää on, eikä valo riitä. Pitääpä kokeilla kuvata kirkasvalolampun avulla. Hyvin ovat linnut tallentuneet kuviin Sinulla.
VastaaPoistabeautiful, beautiful photos! Love that little crested tit.
VastaaPoistaBeautiful photos Sara. Doesn't fresh baked bread always taste better on a cold winter day?! Love the bird photos, poor little things, I often wonder how they survive the long cold winter.
VastaaPoistaSinulla on ollut varmaan kiirettä! Hieno sarja tiaisia! Miten ihmeessä sait ne kaikki kuviin? Minä aina väijyn aamuisin kamera valmiina.. joskus osuu,,useimmiten ei :)
VastaaPoistaKiitos, Teresa!
PoistaEi ole lintukuvaaminen helppoa. :) En edes saanut sopivaa kuvaa hömötiaisista, vaikka ne ovat vähiten arkoja näistä meidän lintulaudalla kävijöistä. Ja kaikki ovat niin nopeita!
Kunhan tulee hieman valoisampaa ja lämpimämpää, yritän päästä vähän lähemmäksi...
Hello Sara, Such a lovely selection of photos to illustrate first days of january. Delicious bread, cute birds and gorgeous blooms! Winter is amazing. For the first time, I think that january is lovely, in here, too. Just because We had snow after long time.
VastaaPoistaMany thanks for sharing this series! A veru great day and week, too!
Hello Sara, what a wonderful start to your January. The crested tit is so cute!
VastaaPoistaLife can get so busy at times. We fortunately escaped any snow but saying that, it does make for some beautiful photo opportunities!!
Here in the UK if we have medical problems with our eyes our doctor would refer us to the local hospital where we would see an ophthalmologist. We can even turn up at eye casualty without an appt if it is an emergency. Privately I would look for a recomendation from my doctor. Very difficult as eyes are very precious. Good luck :)x
