Aren't the pink Chrysanthemums pretty?!
Among other things, I'm also a mum maniac. :)
Today I want to participate in Amy's Five on Friday...
and it was really difficult to choose only five photos.
Other colours coming in the next post...
First this post was only about Chrysanthemums, but then I had to add also something else:
A dear blogger friend Muusa posted recently some enchanting roofscapes from Tallinn, Estonia. I have always loved her miniature scenes and this time I just had to try to create some myself. I don't have many (landscape) shots taken at a high angle to the ground, but I chose some photos from my last year's trip to Northern Italy and did my first experiments. :)
By the way, Muusa's boards and pins are definitely among the most interesting and beautiful I have found on Pinterest.
Now, enjoy my first mini (I think this one succeeded best )... and have a lovely weekend! xxx
Your flowers are beautiful. I didn't know the chrysanthemums came in such lovely colors!
VastaaPoistaKrysanteemit ovat upeita syksyn kasveja!
VastaaPoistaMeillä vielä viimeiset samettikukat kukkivat sitkeästi syksyn tulosta välittämättä.
Aurinkoista viikonloppua!
Kauniita ja pitkään iloa tuottavia. Minullakin krysanteemit koristavat sisääntuloa.
VastaaPoistaIhanan pinkit kukkaset - hyvää viikonloppua!
VastaaPoistaSo many flowers squashed together, you just wouldn't be able to get another in! Your countryside photo has turned out so effectively, it really does look miniature.
VastaaPoistaOnpa ihania pinkkikukkia! Hienot kuvat. - Kaunista viikonloppua sinulle!
VastaaPoistaPinkki piristi kummasti, kiitos :)
VastaaPoistaBuon finesettimana !
beautiful blooms! your landscape is lovely! have a beautiful weekend!
VastaaPoistaWell... I just got done googling what "miniatures" mean in photography because I had never seen such a thing! It is absolutely brilliant! You take real sized photographs of scenes and turn them into a minature effects photograph, correct? I have never seen such a thing! I love it! I would love to see more of these Sara! Please show us more :-)
VastaaPoistaDear Sara,
VastaaPoistabeautiful blooms and the picture of the landscape is is well managed.
Have a lovely weekend. Many greetings ... Dorothea :-)
Ihanat kuvat ja kauniin väriset!
VastaaPoistaMukavaa viikonloppua sinulle!
Your chrysanthemums are brilliant in colour and bloom and I just love your 'mini'.
VastaaPoistaThank fully Silvana [above] has explained the effect. I'll shall have to do some research as well. I hope you share more of your creations.
It would be more correct to call this effect "miniature faking" or "tilt shift" (and it can be done either optically when the photograph is taken or by post-processing digitally - that's what I did), but I called my photo "a mini" because it's a fun name for a thing that makes the child in me so happy. :)
VastaaPoistaThanks Sara - it seems a little complicated for this old brain, but I look forward to seeing your efforts.
PoistaThe mums are gorgeous. For me, mums mean Autumn is just around the corner. Love the mini! Happy Friday.
VastaaPoistaKauniita ihanan värisiä kukkia. Hyvää viikonloppua;-)
VastaaPoistaYes they are :)
VastaaPoistaHello,Sara,
VastaaPoistaSuch lovely pink blooms! They look happy in the soft light.
Happy Friday!
Hello Sara!
VastaaPoistaMums in this pink colour are my favourite. I will be getting a pot of them for my front porch soon. Definitely a sign of summer's end and autumn's beginning. I hadn't heard of photography miniatures before, but I'll be investigating. Such a pretty landscape. Have a good weekend!
Beautiful and wonderful photos of the pink mums. Have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend. Madeline
VastaaPoistaYour flowers are so beautiful. I don't ever recall seeing a pink Chrysanthemums; such a lovely color. Enjoy your day dear friend. Pat xx
VastaaPoistaChrysanthemums are so pretty at this time of year aren't they! Beautiful colours in yours. I love your miniature landscape too! Thank you for joining in, I hope you have a great weekend! xx
VastaaPoistaThose mums are gorgeous. I mainly see the yellow and red ones here. Pink is perfect. Now I must investigate this mini landscape. I enjoy shooting landscapes but don't think of them as mini.
VastaaPoistaThe Chrysanthemums are so pretty and such delicate shades of pink. They look so cheerful and happy.
VastaaPoistaVery very vivid, not much of that sort of colour to be had here at the moment
VastaaPoistaSara, I love seeing your mums...so pretty! For 15 years I lived in Saugerties, NY, and enjoyed visiting Seamon Park near our home which featured Chrysanthemums and in fact had a Mum Festival every Fall. There are some photos you might enjoy ( although they are not as good as yours :) at this address, and also some general information about mums: http://village.saugerties.ny.us/content/Parks/View/1 Miniature world views can be so pleasing, as your's is. xx
VastaaPoistaYour mums are so pretty! I love pink flowers, and seem to always gravitate to them when choosing flowers at the garden centres.
VastaaPoistaI'm intrigued by this miniature landscape! It really does give a great effect, but I can't figure out why. Is it the soft focus around the edge? Hmmm ... Will have to check out your friend's mini landscapes as well.
Wendy
Thank you, Wendy!
PoistaMiniature faking can indeed be made with blurring the foreground and background of the image, but even after observing the photos carefully, I could swear that something magical has happened to the objects in the depth of field too. :)
The pink mums are perfect. They are so perfect looking. And the mini, well it could make perfect portrait for the dollhouse. Very pretty.
VastaaPoistaThey are all very gorgeous, Sara! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
VastaaPoistaSuch beautiful flowers and wonderfully captured - I love all the different shades.
VastaaPoistaWOW! those are some amazing photos
VastaaPoistaKauniit kuvat kukkasista <3 hyvää syksyä sinulle !
VastaaPoistaPink or magenta mums are what I buy every year! I think the nursery I buy from are pinching theirs back too much though as the flowers are so tight together and don't allow air movement between the stems.
VastaaPoistaCute miniature!
Your captures of the pink Chrysanthemums are stunning :)
