August♥

August.

There's a sense of sad beauty about the approach of autumn,
but there's also the happily looking forward to all the new projects,
the anticipation for new beginnings.
Do you remember the excitement for the new school books,
new clothes and the freshly stocked pencil case?
I do... because there's the same excitement even today. :)

Elokuu. Suloista haikeutta.
Jostain pitää luopua ja jotain uutta tulee tilalle.

MakroTex: AUGUST/ELOKUU

Aren't the clouds wonderful?

I make a collage of pansies every year.
I just adore their little faces,
even though some of them do look a little bit angry. :)

Have a lovely new week! ;)

  1. Sara, you've got some stunning cloud and water captures there, just beautiful. I've never noticed those angry pansy faces before but will always look at them more closely in future, fab mosaic.

  2. Suloiset orvokit ja upeat pilvet!
Aavistus haikeutta on meilläkin, kun teinien koulut taas alkavat.
Ja me kaksi odotamme innolla espanjan kurssin jatkumista :)

    1. Kielikurssit ovat ihan parasta. :)
Syksy tuntuu minusta jonkin UUDEN alulta enemmän kuin uusi vuosi konsanaan.

Whenever I see pansies I think of Alice in wonderland haha ... I love that part in the movie when the flowers sing. I'm still a young girl at heart I guess :-). I love autumn. Love the colors, the clothes, the warm soups and the cool nip in the air that gets you ready for winter. What a great God we have that prepares us each year for the seasons. Have a wonderful day dear Sara <3

  4. Yes !!! You said it; new beginnings and anticipation.
That's exactly how I feel every year when autumn arrives :)

Ja taivaskin on niin lumoavaa katseltavaa tähän aikaa vuodesta.
    Vielä enemmän kuin tavallisesti.

  5. Amazing skies, clouds and water surfaces Sara! Indeed some pansies look angry - but ah so pretty. I love the early autumn with cool mornings and colorful leaves. Let's hope we don't get endless rain too soon.

  6. Oh no it's not quite Autumn here yet, still enjoying the sun and sweet roses!!
Loving your mosaic with the pansies, I couldn't but notice your sparkly nails that match your beautiful handbag, very nice!
Whilst looking around the shops over the weekend, I mentioned to my Husband about the large array of pencil cases and ornately decorated writing implements for sale in the shops today. So many to choose from it must be a nightmare for the parents. As a child I would have loved so many of them!!
Your water and sky images are a joy to behold, so soothing. It must be a beautifully relaxing place to live and unwind. The purple flower in your first image looks like rich velvet, stunning.
Have a glorious week Sara :)x

  7. Ihanat kuvat!

Upeaa!

  11. Love your pansies. Here they has succumbed to the summer heat. They will reappear in the garden centers again as the weather cools. Sometimes they reseed and pop up in the spring, always my favorite. Is it really time for school? Since I retired as a teacher, end of summer just rolls quietly into fall. Some schools here in Colorado are beginning today. My grandsons return August 22nd, while the granddaughters start the second week of September. We watch a lot of clouds here, for it is the nature of the farm kid I married. Have a lovely week.

Autumn is actually the most beautiful season there is, because it offers everything.
What a beautiful picture of clouds and air and water!
And the violins are beautiful, and it's really nice that you can see her moods.

    Love, Gerry

  16. Being a teacher I get that lovely sense of new beginnings in September as well. We love the warmth of the summer but fresher days somehow makes you want to start lots of new things. Gorgeous photos, particularly the pansies. Love them too :) B X

Nautitaan elokuusta!

  20. Sara, Thanks for sharing. I love your cloud/sky and water photos. Is the note book for school year? Why 2 colored pens? Sylvia D.

    1. Thank you, Sylvia! These notebooks (there are many colours available) can be used for a school year, but I find them very practical because they show also the following year entirely. I do colour code my notes, but the pens are in the photo just to add two of my favourite colours. :)

  21. Sara, I don't see any angry pansies, they're always happy flowers. :-)
Made specific note of the colour of the journal, pens and purse - practically a mirror image across to my house.
This year, because of the drought and heat I'm going to have to cut many perennials back now so that's what I have to look forward to in August. A couple of colourful potted mums next month will definitely bring me joy though.

  24. So many beauties in these pictures, Sara - I don't know where to begin! The first image is just beautiful, especially seen as you've captured the texture in the bloom so wonderfully. The cloud formations are really interesting, and the pictures of the water are stunning!

I hope you enjoy the last snatches of summer before Autumn arrives; August does feel like a big shift is to come in many ways with the arrival of a new season not far off.

  25. A deep sigh.....your photos are stunning, always love the daily different skies and clouds and your pansy mosaic is great too. Here we have not yet the feeling of the approaching autumn gladly, but when it's there I also love it.

  26. Beautiful photos of August, Sara. The water and clouds, and oh, those sweet pansy faces (even if some do look a little bit angry) are all so lovely. I love summer, and always hate to see it pass because it flies by so quickly. But I love the energy of autumn, too. Every day is a gift.

  28. Wonderful collection of thoughts, things, aspects, flowers, details, textures and colors... and so lovely saying: to "remember the excitement for the new school books,
new clothes and the freshly stocked pencil case"... indeed, in september I have this nostalgia about the school and new season that is coming...
Greetings and many thanks for sharing all of these with us! Best regards!

    1. You waited soooo long for summer and in such a short time it is all but gone. [that is our winter]
    2. Your school year is beginning. Ours starts in late January in the heat and humidity of summer. Sweaty smelly bodies.
    3. I've just decided to go and plant some pansies!

    1. Thank you, Helen! Oh yes, our summer is short and precious. If you ever meet a Finn, and think (s)he's a little bit strange, it's only because (s)he lives in a country where it's dark and/or cold most of the year. Had we more sun and warmth, we would be just like people from Italy or France. :)

  32. Pansies are so delightful, Sara! I am actually looking forward to autumn--it has always been my favorite season. After this unusual hot summer I look forward to cooler temperatures and I love the change of tree leaves and the golden light the lower sun gives everything.

  33. August is lovely where you are. Yes, I see the end of August as a time of new beginnings. Everything seems possible with the coming of autumn, in a way far more real to me than New Year in January ever seems.
