I think planting a tree in dedication to a loved one is the most beautiful thing we can do.

It was probably the Finnish author and journalist Juhani Aho (1861 – 1921) that first described the Finns resilient like the juniper tree. We thrive where the hardships are most severe. :)

The very cute small critter with ear-tufts is a Eurasian red squirrel (in the grey winter coat). It looks chubby because of all those sunflower hearts and peanuts eaten from the bird feeder. :)

♥ Kiitos! ♥ Grazie! ♥ Tack! ♥ Sara - Villa Emiliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17402655388283396110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9082774686797129874.post-25235075010056718662017-10-31T02:30:52.039+02:002017-10-31T02:30:52.039+02:00The spruces are magical, and I loved to see all th...The spruces are magical, and I loved to see all the snow on them. Your photos are wonderful and I always love them, especially to see the sweet little creatures that live close by. We planted an alpine fir in dedication to my husband's dear Mother whom we lost last December. We plan on decorating it each Christmas in her honor. Her birthday was in December. I also have many trees that I planted from the Arbor Day Foundation. They came in the mail as slender sticks with tiny roots and now they are large and beautiful - flowering pear and hawthorn. I hope you have a lovely week in this last week of October. Everything is very green throughout the year, unless snow comes to whiten up the landscape. I always hope for snow for a few weeks, but don't always see it. My favourite tree would be a birch; I love the white bark that peels in such attractive curls.
