Jälkiä pihapiirissä - Paw prints in the snow

Hei kaikki! Eilen aamulla pihateillä oli ohut, yön aikana satanut lumikerros ja taas paljon lisää eläinten jälkiä. Päätin koota eilisiä sekä marraskuussa otettuja kuvia yhteen postaukseen. Ajattelin ensin poistaa kommentointimahdollisuuden tästä postauksesta, koska en ole - taaskaan - ehtinyt käydä vierailulla blogeissanne, mutta on kyllä erityisen kiinnostavaa lukea kommenttejanne omista havainnoistanne, tunnistusvinkkejä yms.!

Kuvat suurenevat klikkaamalla.

Hello all! In this post, there's a selection of animal tracks (big and small) found around our home. Yesterday morning the conditions were very good for tracking, because there was a thin layer of fresh snow. Today the heavy snowfall has already covered everything.

There are 40 photos altogether. :) That's why they are small, but as always, you can enlarge them by clicking on them.

Näitä pieniä jälkiä on useita. Ilvekset osaavat kulkea hyvin tarkasti toistensa jäljissä enkä ole varma, montako niitä on.

Me kuljemme samoilla poluilla. :) Ne näyttävät kulkevan mielellään auratuilla teillä. Aamulla minä seuraan niiden jälkiä ja seuraavana yönä ne taas ovat kulkeneet minun jäljilläni.

Kuvissa oleva Kuoma-saapas on kokoa 40. :)

Mustarastas?

Pihateillä näkyy myös tällaisia isompia jälkiä. Näitä kuvasin heti aamulla taskulampun valossa, ettei lumisade peittäisi niitä. Ensin ajattelin että ilman muuta siinä on kävellyt ilveksiä samoilla jäljillä, mutta sitten en ollutkaan varma.

Varpaita ja polkuanturoita näkyy vaikka miten monta. :) Alemmassa kuvassa näyttäisi melkein näkyvän kynnen jälkiä. (Ahmakin tulee mieleen, mutta hylkään ajatuksen epätodennäköisena.)

Tässä on tassuteltu rannan jäällä. Kuva on pimeä, mutta selvästi näkyy yksittäisiä ilveksen jälkiä:

Minkki on liikuskellut samalla paikalla:

These sunny photos have been taken in November... :)

Tämä kuva on viime vuodelta. Toivottavasti siinä on kulkenut saukko. Se olisi mukava naapuri. :)

Hyvää viikonloppua!

Have a lovely weekend!

  1. So many different prints and some beautiful photographs. I am hoping for some snow this weekend. Enough to look pretty, but not too much that it causes disruption. X

  2. I am always fascinated by animal tracks in the snow and the stories they reveal. Every year I tell myself that I will become more proficient in identifying them and interpreting behaviour, but it never seems to happen. Still, they give me pleasure, especially the familiar ones that I CAN identify!

  3. Edustava kokoelma jälkiä !!! Ihan mahtava idea postaukseen.

  4. The tracks do tell a story, don't they. We've not had much snow here. I think it has been 55 days since our first snow of the season and the last snow, so far. It has been bitterly cold, however, with wind. It is supposed to warm up for the weekend. I love the photo of the tree line, etherial and magically. Just as I imagine Norway.

We could send you some snowfall from here and you could send us some sunshine. :) Our winter has been mild and very, very cloudy.

    1. Miten erottaa rusakon ja jäniksen jäljet toisistaan?! :D
Kirja voisi olla hyvä hankinta. Löysin ainakin Lars-Henrik Olsenin "Mikä eläin? Eläinten jäljet ja elintavat", joka näyttäisi hyvältä.

  10. Very serene and very interesting images dear Sara!!!

Snow have whitened your area elegantly and you are successful to convey the current message of your surroundings which is "brrr .it's COLD!"

watching at tracks is always so fascinating for me ,they seem like writings of whom passed by and left the sign behind to look for them :)

thank you for not removing the comment option ,it sounds that you show magic and tap my mouth to say "wow!!!"

I must say, however, that it's not cold here. :D The winter has been exceptionally mild... and cloudy. The temperatures in our part of the country have been usually only some degrees centigrade under zero. In Lapland, they have already experienced low temperatures though, about -30 C. That starts to be cold. :)

  19. Hello Sara,
you were lucky that you have probably snow long enought that you could take pictures of so many footprints. I have to confess I wouldn't know most of them. I guess in Finnish woods there is much more different wildlife than in German woods?!
Wish you a wonderful advents time

    1. This is very interesting. I just read that the Eurasian Lynx was exterminated in Germany in 1850 but reintroduced in the 1990s to the Bavarian Forest and the Harz. We seem to have some of them living nearby, but I have never seen one, only paw prints in winter. :)
      Happy Advent, Sigrid!
