New photos of old friends (furry and feathered)

Well, sometimes these little "friends" are somewhat annoying, especially when they do this:

We have had perhaps 20 cm of soft and light new snow in the last days.

This squirrel has almost black coat:

Mörri-Möykky

A cute Eurasian treecreeper (Certhia familiaris):

Opening the path. Soft snow till the knees... :)

You little rascal, these berries are artificial!

An unorthodox cropping, one of the three suggested by Picasa:

Enjoy the sun! Aurinkoisia talvipäiviä hiihtolomalaisille ja muillekin!

  2. Paras oli taas lopussa !!! 🐿 Mahtavat ihanat muutkin oravan kuvat ja tipuset.
Eurasian treecreeper on ilmeisesti puukiipijä, en ole moista ihanuutta ennen tavannut 🙂
Olitpa taas onnistunut tavoittamaan hyvät otokset luontoa 🐾
    Heh, marjat näyttävät oikeilta 🙂

    1. Kiitos, Rita! :)
Kyllä, se on puukiipijä - ujo, pieni lintu; tätä lähemmäksi en ole päässyt yrityksistä huolimatta.

  4. Mörri-Möykky on hurmaava karvat pörrössä, mutta tuo lintulaudan tuho on tuttua meilläkin. Siitä huolimatta - orava-kuvat ovat mainioita! Kauniita aurinkopäiviä!

    1. Thank you, Simon!
I wonder if any insects can be found on the trunks now, so this one may be interested in the conifer seeds (or the nuts and seeds fallen from the birdfeeder).

  7. Suloista tunnelmaa! On sulla hyvä kamera! Niiiin ihantuttavan tarkkoja kuvia.

  9. Dear Sara, these photos are so very beautiful again! I love the blue sky behind the snowy trees. The little birds are really sweet. It seems they like the suet ball. I think, this little squirrel knows he is so cute, and handsome, that everything will be forgiven him. I hope you can repair the lovely bird feeder.
Have a delightful week! Hugs! ♥

  12. Oh Sara, that has to be the most adorable squirrel EVER!! HE is SO cute! Is he tame enough for you to get quite close or are yo using a very long telephoto lens? Wonderful winter shots.

    1. Thank you, Linda, on the behalf of our squirrels! :)
They are not very tame (anymore), because they usually see me running, clapping my hands and ranting, and their little faces express the puzzlement: why does she first put nuts and seeds in the feeder and then chase us from there?

I take almost all my photos with a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens, my favourite. :)

    Mukavaa viikon jatkoa :)

  17. Oooh what a beautiful winter wonderland. Prunella is very envious :)
Those cute little squirrels have been rather naughty, hard to believe they can be quite so destructive but with such cute expressions it's not hard to forgive them.
Love your gorgeous bird images. I've never seen a Eurasian treecreeper, it's lovely!
Have a fantastic week Sara and stay warm :)x

  19. Such a cute little guy. We see a squirrel here every now and then. With all of our trees, we should have more, but thankfully we don't. Love the stamps. I do have Valentine stamps. Send me your address and I'll mail them to you. Have a great week.

  21. In Australia, today is officially the 1st day of autumn. Our temperatures are still in the 30'sC, so I have delighted in this post of fresh snow, cute photographic squirrels, red berries, birds and a gorgeous sunset shot. Picassa chose well.

  23. Oh that must be one of life's big disappointments for a squirrel a plastic berry!!!! What adorable photos, I know they are pesky, destructive at times creatures, but with those ears and that cute expression you can't help but grin :) Fabulous snowy pictures Sara!
