Memories 2015: The Linnaeus Garden, Uppsala

It's snowing, but not in a picturesque way. :) Let's escape back to July...

In my first post about the Linnaean Garden, you can find a brief description of the garden (and some of these photos, cropped differently).

  2. Voi miten ihanasti kesä oikein vyöryy päälle näistä huikeista kuvistasi! Tädyke ja ukonhattu lumoavat sinellään, ohdake lilallaan. Niin kaunista!

    PS
Lyhensin nimeäni :) Oikeassa elämässä olen Helmi-Riitta, mutta ehkä riitta riittää :)) Helpompaa muunkielisille!

    1. Oi, kiitos! Ajattelin ensin laittaa kuvat pienempinä, mutta sitten huomasin tarvitsevani hieman kesävyörytystä.
Toivotko meidän suomalaisten kutsuvan sinua Helmi-Riitaksi vai riitaksi? :)

It was a happy visit, even though the light was a little bit uninspiring. It would be lovely to be able to visit such places in different times of the year... and day. xx

    1. Kiitos, Kruunu Vuokko!

Many thistles do look very pretty. I once tried cultivating a species of native Cirsium as pot plants - the result wasn't very good. :)

  15. Tuo on varmasti ihana paikka! Minäkin tahtoisin joskus käydä. Saiko tuolta muuten ostaa jotain kasveja? Onko tänä kesänä tiedossa joku reissu taas teillä :)

    1. Kiitos, Sametti Hortensia!

      Ihanaa viikonloppua!

  19. Oh yes, in July the garden is at its peak with colour and fragrance. A nice journey back with you Sara, do you find the butterflies like the lantana in your garden?

    1. Thank you, Judith!
Lantanas are pretty and we should definitely have more plants for butterflies in our garden. However, they should be wintered indoors here and I dedicate my efforts for trying to keep alive the plants I really love, like the Wisterias. :)

  28. These are such simple, common flowers that make the garden wonderful. Easy to grow, pleasing, and simple. I need to remember to plant more simple flowers and forget the exotics.
