December

This is how December should look! We practically don't have snow yet. It has been snowing already several times, but every time the snow has melted away.

We do enjoy the month though... wrapping gifts, baking, receiving nice parcels from relatives and friends, and decorating the home. :)

Ainakin minulle valkoinen on jouluväreistä ehdoton ykkönen.

Ja onpas muuten kauniin sävyinen joulutähti tuossa kuvassa!

  2. Hello Sara,
It's all just like us. No trace of winter, too hot.
But you make your home cozy and your bakingart looks yummy!
Your white Christmas star is fantastically beautiful! I never saw so white, always cream.
I wish you a nice month on way to Christmas.

    Love, Gerry

    1. Hello Muusa and Gerry,
the Christmas star is a "Princettia". I have seen on the Internet that there are also really beautiful pink shades available. ♥

  3. No winter here too, when we get winter the cold comes from the north, so until now too mild temperatures, some storms and a lot of rain, but today a sunny day! Your photos look inspiring to start festive decorations, I have not yet started.....
    Wish you a happy time!

  4. Olet sinä aika welho! Tässä kiteytyy joulusta kaikki: tunnelma, kukat ja koristeet... Suun ja silmän ilot... Kaunista. Toivotaan meille valkoista joulua, jouluaattoon hiutaleitten hiljaista leijailua sinisessä hämärässä...

    1. Hello Stacy,
a "joulutorttu" is a traditional Finnish Christmas pastry. It's usually made from puff pastry in the shape of a pinwheel and filled with prune jam and before serving dusted with icing sugar. For Christmas we (in our family) always use prune jam, but they are very nice filled with apple jam as well. ♥

  11. Upeat kuvat, erityisesti kaksi viimeistä!<3 Ei se auta muu, kuin yrittää nauttia jouluvalmisteluista ilman lunta. Lumella on vaan niin ihmeellinen, taianomainen vaikutus joulutunnelmaan. Toisaalta, onneki on edes paistanut aurinko silloin tällöin, ei jaksaisi piemyttä yhtään!:)
    Mukavaa joulunalusaikaa!

    Have a happy day!

  13. Lunta kaivataan meillä jo. Kai se on niin, että jouluna kaipaa aina lunta! ja koko joulukuussakin. Ei vielä pitkään aikaan pääse hiihtämään, ellei tänä vuonna samnmalilla hiihdä.

  14. I'm wondering if we will have a mild winter since we've only had a couple of dustings of snow so far. As you say, there is so much to see and do that we needn't concern ourselves with the white stuff.
Your last bokeh photo is so pretty Sara, little angels swirling through the air as if by magic.

  18. Your photos are beautiful, Sara. The pastry looks so yummy, the star so pretty and bright. It's a wonderful season.

  19. You have captured the season so nicely in your photos. Any snow we have had here has quickly melted away. The weather has been oddly mild, but it is a treat after two very cold winters. Hopefully there will be snow in time for Christmas!

  24. I'd be out with my binoculars and camera, looking for waxwing, redwing and fieldfare. In the 10 minutes Id have before freezing to death.

  25. For me a lack of snow would be a good thing, but I can imagine that for you it isn't, and when you are all set up for it as your country is then it isn't such a problem as it is for us. I do hope that you get some snow soon and for Christmas! xx

  26. Hi, Sara! The last two pictures are fantastic. And the white poinsettia... I have never seen something like this before. We have a red one on the table to add some Christmas mood before the Christmas tree is put on place.
And yes, snow... We don't have it here. At all. And forecast says that there will no be snow for Christmas. And New Year most probably will be celebrated without snow as well.

  32. Aivan suloisia pieniä joulukortteja ja ihastelin loistavaa joulutähteäsi, niin ja sitä kukkaa. Voi kun tulisi noin paljon lunta, että saataisiin valkoinen joulu. Hyvää joulun odotusta!

  33. Lumi olisi kyllä ihana lisä jouluun. Hyvää joulun aikaa!
